Liaoning Ballet Troupe, founded in 1980 in the northeast China province, is one of the country's five major ballet organizations and a cradle for future dance talent.

The troupe practices in the city of Shenyang and has already produced generations of outstanding ballet dancers.

It has staged numerous classics of world reputation over the past decades, including Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Don Quixote and Giselle.

The troupe sticks to the path of adapting much-loved foreign productions whilst creating original ones with Chinese characteristics.

It has made great achievements in the area, according to critics, with Chinese folk ballets such as Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, The Moon Over a Fountain, and The Last Emperor also listed among its works.
